Welcome to sustainable communities.

This group was formed to help share advice and knowledge on sustainable living with our mother earth. Sharing information on making homes, properties and people chemical free, the creation of zero waste in living wisely so that children and people can live in harmony with all and enjoy the beauty of life.

Sharing here is where we all can help support and encourage others to make the changes to living smarter and wiser lifes.

Green Printer Comment by Green Printer on April 30, 2011 at 9:00am
I teach sustainable pressroom practices. Currently I have successfully finished 11 printing firms with number 12 on there way.  These printing firms have eliminated all HAPS, SARA 313s, California Prop 65's along with heat, air conditioning and energy reductions. If we could get all printing firms trained there would tens of thousands of tons reduction in chemical usage  Accompany this renewable bio based products and the carbon footprint of print manufacturing drops.   Communications based on renewable recyclable sources, paper, ink and chemistry will be the lowest carbon footprint communications next to speaking.  Renewable sources such as paper are carbon sequestering  methods that can be recycled into more product or burned for energy.  For instance a 10 year old book has been sequestering and storing carbon it the book is recycled it continues its sequestering if it is burned for energy it has released its sequestered carbon and the cycle repeats. If †he book is landfilled it will eventually convert to methane and if the landfill is tapped for gas useaged the carbon is released as energy.
