Bio
New Yorker Jaymz Nylon burst on to the global scene in 1993 with his first timeless release Ofunwa "It All Begins Here" on Tribal America. Since then he has put out a steady stream of genre-morphing productions for premiere indie labels like King Street/Nitegrooves, Eight Ball, Irma, Loveslap! and Goya/Main Squeeze. Hailed now as the godfather of Afro-tech, his music is a heady alchemy of African, Latin and jazz grooves that when woven through the technology of his machines still sound as soulful as can be. His latest Dirty Wonderland EP is an instrumental journey where once again these elements effortlessly glide into one another. The title track and "Way Of The Slient Modernist" are bass driven, swirling, broken-beat, nu jazz cuts while "Crave" and "Minimo Muy Grande" are steeped in deep, techy, Afro-Latin rhythms. Mastering in Your Home Studio - Cost Effective and Energy Efficient...

Posted on May 21, 2011 at 7:23pm 0 Comments

Mastering is just as important as creating the music. You want your music to sound as best as possible in a multitude of listening environments. I had no idea of what mastering involved in my beginning years as a young producer, with my shear lack of knowledge I relied on record labels to do the mastering for me. In the current state of the music industry musicians are self releasing… Continue

I want to say a huge thank you for the years of support as I value your dedication, respect and gifted ears.

Recently I was going through my archives of unreleased music and came across one as a gift to you in the form of a free download entitled "Do You Remember New York City". I wrote this song one day a couple of years ago as I sat in the window of my Brooklyn apartment remembering… Continue

Here's a video I watched last night discussing the promising future of the Green Economy.

http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/2008-2009/the_gospel_of_green/video.html

The video was produced by the CBC and aired originally on their program, "The Fifth Estate."

While the video deals primarily with Canada, The Fifth Estate details numerous excellent and compelling reasons to accelerate the Green Economy globally.

Wishing you all the best,
COMMON RAVEN

Here's an except about the content...
Hermann Scheer is a German parliamentarian who has turned ideas into practical solutions. Because of the laws that bear his name, Germany is now a solar-paneled, windmill-building, job-producing green powerhouse of the industrialized world.

Fifteen per cent of Germany's electricity now comes from renewable energy systems. Scheer predicts that, if his country continues on this course, that number could be 100 per cent by 2030.

In The Gospel of Green, the Fifth Estate's Bob McKeown travels to Germany to meet Scheer and find out how this green miracle has been accomplished. What he finds is a man with an evangelist's fervour and economist's drive for practical applications.

It was Germany's renewable energy act — now known as Scheer's Law — that launched the country as a world leader in green power.

He first proved it could work, ten years ago, when he promised to install solar panels on 100,000 homes, offering contracts that paid a premium to the homeowner for the electricity produced by the panels. Even Greenpeace thought that too ambitious, but Scheer finished the project a year early.
