I jus' hooked up some vintage bandanas from the 1970's, they were part of some deadstock items. Because of their age they are mad soft and broken in jus' right, brothaman is so diggin'em...…

Get Locked Up and Go Green,The 1st Eco-Prison...

Even prisons are becoming green making them more energy and cost efficient.

Does it take being locked up in a an eco-prison for a fool to get green and should they now be referred to as an eco-gansta, a green-gang banger or O.G.(organic gangsta)?

Butner Federal Prison, located outside of Durham, N.C. is the nation’s first and only LEED-certified prison, having met the U.S. Green… Continue

America's Most Sustainable Cities

I'm thinking of moving, and the National Resources Defense Council's recently published list of America's top 15 most sustainable cities will influence my decision. Seattle, a city I never even considered calling home, was named #1, followed by San Francisco, Portland (Oregon), and Oakland. New York came in at #12 (is this a surprise?), Los Angeles was #13, and Dallas squeezed in at last… Continue

New York Architects Building an Eco School in Africa...

I dig hearing about folks lookin' out for one another. Architectonics, a New York based firm is working on the MCF Academy in Monrovia( the capital city of the West African nation of Liberia) a sustainable village used to house, feed and educate 200 orphans. How dope is that!

Now we need to green-out existing schools here in New York and build more sustainable ones. A better quality of life leads to a better education for our… Continue

A Green Tuk Tuk

During my travels in Thailand, I was often coughing and pinching my nose while wandering the streets and trying to avoid inhaling the thick black fumes emanating from the "tuk tuks" or 3-wheeled motorcarts that are the most popular kind of taxi in Thailand. The drivers wear surgical masks (do those make a difference?), and guidebooks warn that respiratory problems are the most common complaint tourists have in these parts of the world. Well, good news… Continue
