American Spring: The Movement Goes National...

The occupation has gone national. From Los Angeles to New York City and many cities in between the ‘American Spring’ show only signs of growing stronger with each passing day.

From the labor uprising in Wisconsin, to the Tar Sands sit-ins in Washington, to the Occupy Wall Street protests and one of the largest mass arrests in U.S. history on the Brooklyn Bridge this week, the spark of outrage in this country has ignited a true people’s movement and the corporatocracy is afraid, as evidenced by their ruthlessly coordinated counter-movement waged across all levels of their propaganda machine.

Despite what their establishment media and the uninformed would have us believe, this movement is delivering a clear message to the people—not to those on wall street with no right to power, nor to those in our government so strangled by corruption and dysfunction as to be nearly useless to the people. Like the overthrown dictators of our brothers and sisters in the Arab Spring, those who have exploited and desecrated our nation have no have right to negotiate with the people.

The message as Jim Hightower explains it, is that “the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans possess more net worth today than the bottom 90 percent of us combined. Worse, these privileged few and their political henchmen have structured a new economic ‘normal’ of long-term joblessness, low wages, no benefits or worker rights, miserly public services, and a steadily widening chasm between the rich and the rest of us.” We must restore sanity to this nation.

The flame of revolution is catching but we have to tend to it now. We need each and every one of our readers to do what they can to support this movement.
