Ahhh yeah, Brooklyn is always the place to be! Especially when I can find two of my favorite things under one roof, vintage vinyl and coffee.
I had a great time chatting with Sommer Foster-Santoro of Black Gold
which she co-owns with Jeff Ogiba.
Sommer's vibe is a cool as the one in this little haven nestled in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn NY.
Being a serious vinyl lover since the age of 3(I have a photo to prove it) I felt right at home surrounded in a sea of amazing album covers. I ended up walking out with an Isaac Hayes
album. I am thrilled to have them in hood!
Black Gold also serves Rook Coffee
organic and fairtrade coffees and vegan/organic treats from SCRATCHbread
. Their antiques are cool but the only the only thing that bothers me are the vintage stuffed animals, they seem to be looking at me as if I shot and stuffed them myself. I would like to see them replaced with a cool selection of vintage watches, eyeglass frames, bandanas, pocket knives or coffee/espresso cups etc... ya know what I am saying it would fit so nicely with their concept and then Black Gold would truly be golden.
While shopping you have to pick up a Black Gold canvas tote bag for $15.00, buy once and every time you come through bring your bag back and receive 10% off.
