For years I wasted mad amounts of energy & cheddar by installing a 23,500 btu window a/c that I had imagined would cool my entire apartment, damn was I wrong. The sun would shine on the unit for most of the day rendering it useless.

Finally after a slowly brightening light went off in my head I sold the unit and replaced it with 3 energy star rated portable 9,000 btu a/c units, 1 for each bedroom. I also installed solar blinds up in the crib blocking out 90% of harmful UV rays while keeping my urban view.
