About Our Ingredients:
We use a unique blend of garbanzo bean flour, potato starch, tapioca flour, sorghum flour, fava flour that is wheat/gluten-free and quite flavorful.
Our blend of flours is high in protein, fiber, iron and vitamin B6 (aids in protein metabolism, red blood cell formation and synthesis of antibodies in the immune system).
Bananas, a good source of vitamin C (valuable in the absorption of iron, synthesis of connective tissue and blood formation), potassium (an essential mineral for protein synthesis and building of muscle) and dietary fiber. Bananas also contain a rich supply of vitamin B6.
Apples, rich in pectin (a soluble fiber that aids digestion) and is high in antioxidants.
Our apples are fresh from the Greenmarket at Union Square in NYC! We strive to buy local whenever we can, for the freshest ingredients with the least impact on the environment. Our supplier is Terhune Orchards, NY.
Coconut Oil, a medium chain triglyceride, is readily metabolized for energy. Research has shown coconut oil, may be beneficial in the management of many conditions which cause fat malabsorption, such as inflammatory bowel disease, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and some pancreatic and liver conditions. See the article by Purina Research.
Cinnamon is one of the oldest known spices. It has antimicrobial properties, can aid digestion and circulation and my help regulate blood sugar.
Coconut is called “the fruit of life” in some cultures, as it is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals.
Vanilla extract. You might be surprised to know that most vanilla extracts are not gluten free, but ours is!
Honey is a source of antioxidants and has antimicrobial properties. Our honey is also from the Union Square Greenmarket, from Twin Spruce Apiaries, NY.
Calcium carbonate is a no sodium substitute for baking soda.
Any single ingredient can be an allergen for your dog. We have omitted some of the more common ones from our treats, but please ask your vet about your dog's unique needs before introducing a new food or treat.
