The Scorpion Sisters is an edgy jewelry design company providing one of a

materials back to life, San Francisco designer, Michelle Threadgould, uses vintage pieces of the highest

quality to create handmade, beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry. The Scorpion Sisters create a

Rock’n’roll look with a green consciousness.

Scorpion Sisters, founded in 2011, offer necklaces and asymmetrical earrings that are each statement

pieces. Threadgould combines recycled materials like vintage pins, watch parts, and found metal with

high-end materials like stones, crystals, pearls, and glass beads. Through her creativity and eye for

original vintage pieces, Threadgould creates pieces of jewelry that tell their own story. “I believe in the

idea of giving something a second-chance. We are all finding ourselves, and it is great to take a piece that

has been forgotten or broken and to transform it into something beautiful," explains Threadgould. "The

beauty was always there, it just had to be found.”

Threadgould believes in telling a story through fashion, and as a costume and wardrobe stylist,

Threadgould learned that the key to good story telling is in the details. By wearing a piece of Scorpion

Sisters jewelry, each person expresses their individuality and tells their own story. The designer’s aunt,

Margarita Lopez, taught the designer to find inspiration in the imperfect things. During a flea market trip,

Threadgould’s aunt pointed out a box of broken jewelry and asked her to imagine how these broken

pieces could be brought back to life. After realizing the potential of these materials, the Scorpion Sisters

were born.

Inspired by making the most out of what you have and turning nothing in to something, Scorpion Sisters
